2015 Drive it Day

 27/4/2015

Our Drive it Day run this year was an eventful one even before the day itself, almost to the point that it didn't take off at all.  Our original plan was to drive down to Fairwood Airport and a visit to the Welsh Air Ambulance base and present our charity cheque to them for 2014.  However miss communications meant that the opportunity fell through.
Frantic planning for another run e mails and phone calls late into the evenings, eventually form a plan.

Two cars turned up at the meeting point in Newport.  Just before we were about to start it was discovered that two members coming on the run had gotten themselves lost.  One of them turned up just as we were about to set off with in sight of the start one of the cars brokedown, blocking one lane of the A48 repairs began after much head scratching and near misses with passing traffic, and the arrival of the fourth missing car.  We all headed off for Llandegffed Reservoir where we meet up with four other branch members. We extended the day by having a short run through the Usk Valley to Usk and the town Castle.
